My journey to the diaconate began at St. Gregory’s Parish, Magnolia, N.J. Two priests, Monsignor Edward Korda & Reverend A. Cairone in the 1980’s provided for me a spiritual environment to journey into the diaconate. From not knowing anyone in the parish, to becoming a Lector, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, a member of the Parish Council and then President of Parish Council, a member of the Holy Name Society,

Monsignor Korda asked if I would like to have my name submitted to the Office of the Diaconate for preparing for and then serving as a deacon. I said I would like it very much. Monsignor submitted my name, I was accepted and thus began my journey to the diaconate. St. Gregory’s parish congregation, those two parish priests, and then deacons at the parish, Joseph Conway and Leonard Carlucci, along with my wife and family were all instrumental in my journey to the diaconate. It was an honor and a privilege to serve the Diocese of Camden as a deacon.
